This week I've been making an updated western saloon animatic for my good cup of coffee sequence, I'm still unsure on some of the pacing but I decided that I should leave the animatic as it is for now as I needed to work on my other sequence.
Videos I used as reference to make the above more like a spaghetti western:
Once Upon a Time in the West Opening:
Once Upon a Time in the West, Frank's Entrance:
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly Stand-Off Scene:
For a Few Dollars More Saloon Scene:
I thought about my options for the bad cup of coffee sequence and decided I should go simpler seeming as I'll spend a lot of time on the above animation due to the changing shots and walk cycles. This meant I ditched the witch idea and went with my scribbled bearded man at a cafe. I'm keeping it all one shot and will hopefully focus on making believable and expressive movements rather than on the mood and cinematography of the previous sequence.
To lengthen the sequence from just the shiver from my last post I added him enjoying some pastries brought out to him along with his coffee to put him in a really good mood before he tastes the bad coffee.
