This week I've been putting the set together for the Moon's room and beginning on filming. I started with the main box for the room and then measured the walls so that I could make bookshelves of the right height. Once I'd made the bookshelves I made the book spines by just cutting rectangles of card out and sticking them together on one longer piece so that they fit into the shelves. Here is the Moon in the corner of the finished bookshelves:
I also made a window for the ceiling of the room out of cardboard to make the lighting more interesting.
I've now started to film some small shots that are from the fourth wall and experimented with different colour balances whilst compositing them to see how I could make the room feel more night-like in post.
