As mentioned in my last post my aim for this week was to finish the close-ups for the opening I had planned and to add extra boils in to elongate some of my shots that seemed cut shot. I did these things which you can see in the video below:
For my reference whilst animating I filmed myself taking a breath in to get the right angle, and found a video of robins landing on branches on Youtube which I took different parts of to make the movement of the bird in my opening sequence. I also had images of the robin to make sure I got the eye shape right when it was more stationary.
I researched some further music to make the performance sound like it could come from the instrument I have drawn, which most closely resembles a shawm but without a reed, so I decided to use music played on a chalumeau, which is a somewhat similar shape. I was able to find several different solo pieces on Youtube too, meaning I can change up the music the bard is playing more often.
Although I said last week I'd have liked to have moved onto the main sequence now I'd still like to add more to the opening sequence, just some close-ups of the bard as she plays to show her passion, before going into the full body shot to show her surprise at the bear's appearance. I've done some sketching of performers as they're playing to get to know their facial expressions.
