Since my last post I have finished the leaflet, we've had the exhibition, and started on the website! I'm pretty happy with the leaflet, although I know it could have done with a few more proof reads as I have noticed a few typos since they were printed.
The exhibition itself went really well, everything was presented beautifully so you could wander about the room and enjoy various types of work. It felt so rewarding to see all of our work up on the walls, on screens, on plinths, and projected during the screenings.
It got really busy around the two screenings and it felt like there was a real buzz for them both. Moira spoke a few words before the evening one which she did really well. It felt like a proper event, which might seem obvious, but it was so amazing to see everything all of us had put into it come to fruition successfully.
I only put in my two puppets but I was really happy with this one corner of the exhibition they lived in. Elio and the lightbulb cowboy turn out to have the same colour scheme so they work very well together.
Silvana had cut out some of the behind the scenes photos I had before I arrived at Whitespace, too, which looked great when collaged together. I arrived later at the gallery so that the curation team had time to get work up the way they wanted, but got there earlier than others so I could help set up my puppet.
Since the exhibition I haven't had much to do, but since Sam and Heath have been making the website I have put together a small teaser video for the page to open on. We all agreed that it would be interesting to open the page on something moving, or at least have something simple to watch and get the gist of our work without having to trawl through each individual clip. Here's the teaser I made:
Overall I think the exhibition was a success and that we should all be really happy with what we put into it.
