Issues of Representation Conclusion

I have been using the clay on glass method that I mentioned in my last post to animate a fraction of my animatic. I soften the clay with paint thinner and use pottery tools to form it into what it needs to be. Here are some tests I did before getting into the film:

I was happy with these tests and decided I would continue in this medium. I made some pieces that had a clay frame in the background too, which took a little longer than these tests.

I also animated another piece just clay straight onto the glass because I knew it would take me forever if I had clay on the back. Despite this the transformation shot still took me 3 days to animate. Because of how long this method of animation took me I only animated about 3 shots, and added my test of the wolf appearing with the colour altered too. I tried animating the words in clay in some shots but I later just animated the text in after effects to look like it had a boil on it so that it was more involved in the animation. If I had more time I would have added text like this to every part of the animatic too, but I was tired out by this at the deadline and kept the subtitles as they were in the original animatic.

Here is the film I submitted:

It would be nice to make a finished version of this film some day as it's been a pretty personal process, but for now this is what it will be.
